Ahh…the dog days of summer are here, and I’m super excited because the summer season is a home run when it comes to throwing awesome virtual theme parties.
Yep! From the comfort of your own home – or while you’re at the beach! – you and your host can throw a memorable and incredibly entertaining summer theme party that her guests will never forget. WHY SHOULD I USE A PARTY THEME?
Before we dig into summer theme ideas, let’s tackle why you should be using a summer theme. I can hear the questions now.
Why should I use a theme? I don’t like being restricted! Why can’t I just post my whole catalog? Guests need to see all the things, right?
Themes are the best way to entertain your guests, get them to engage, and place those orders! Who wouldn’t love to attend an online event with a cool pool party theme? Or a nostalgic ice cream social? Themes give your guests the inside scoop (pun intended!) on what to expect during the party and prep them, so they feel comfortable – and excited – to attend, participate, and shop.
Themes are also a fantastic booking tool! When you approach a potential host with a few summer theme party ideas that she can choose from, she’ll feel in control of her party and already invested in making sure it’s a blast. As she invites her friends, she will feel confident that they’ll be excited about the theme because she already knows what they like!
HOW DO I CREATE A THEME PARTY?
The great news about creating your summer theme parties is that you don’t have to do much tweaking to your regular party script. You’ll want to keep your pre-party posts to get your guests warmed up, have a Welcome post, an ice breaker (a fun game or how they know the host), product posts and videos, and wrap up with your typical join your customer group and thank you posts. But the really fun part is tying all the posts together with the summer theme.
Ensure your graphics relate to your theme and include words in them and your post messages that complement and enhance the theme. If you’re doing FB Live or recording videos for your party, don’t forget to add a few fun theme-related props! For example, wearing a Santa hat and having Christmas lights strung up behind you would be super entertaining for a Christmas in July-themed party and definitely get everyone in the mood to shop! The more YOU get into the theme, the more your host and guests will, too, so don’t be shy – play it up!
